I am Alma Wiley (Ms. Alma), a licensed family child care provider for the state of Colorado. I have been licensed since August 1998. My husband, Rockie, and I have been married since 1992. We have 2 adult children, Justin and Shelby, and 7 beautiful and energetic grandchildren whom we love spending our time with. I have always wanted to help children, with dreams of assisting with foster care. I wanted to be able to end the foster care system, and give all children a loving home. As I became an adult, I realized that I could not fix or change it, so that is when I chose to help children by opening my own family child care home. I genuinely love making a difference in the lives of children.
I am affiliated with the Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) and a DoD Respite Provider for Wounded Warriors and Deployed Services Members, provided by Child Care Aware of America. I have completed numerous trainings over the years to include a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA), Expanding Quality in Infant and Toddler Care (EQIT), T. Barry Brazelton Touchpoints, My Teaching Strategies Observations (MTS), Pyramid Plus Approach. I am a nationally accredited family child care provider with the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC). I am currently working on my associate’s degree in early childhood education. I am also a credentialed coach and trainer for Colorado and an Infant Toddler Specialist trainer. I am the president of the Pikes Peak Region Family Childcare Association (PPRFCCA), and a member of the Colorado Association of Family Child Care (CAFCC), a member of Colorado Association for the Education of Young Children (COAEYC), and a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). I also sit on many advisory committees and boards for the betterment of Early Childhood Education, like Pikes Peak State College, Joint Initiatives and Alliance for Kids, and Fountain Valley Community That Cares.
